A little later on this first full day...

After a rather wet beginning, the day has turned lovely.  I shed my rain gear and went out on a scouting mission and found myself at the Swiss border. I'll save that for tomorrow so I stopped in at a restaurant for a late lunch of chicken breast stuffed with spinach before heading back to my hotel.

There are more cycle lanes and paths in one square kilometre here than there are in most of Ottawa. Most sidewalks are split into cycle and pedestrian lanes.  Cycle crossings at intersections and traffic circles are marked in red pavement.  Many intersections have a cycle traffic light. And the segregated paths out in the woods are marked with extensive signposting.
